The Art of Work: A Proven Path to Discovering What You Were Meant to DoThe Art of Work: A Proven Path to Discovering What You Were Meant to DoWhether you’re looking for meaning in your work or trying to figure out what your life’s work should be, The Art of Work by Jeff Goins is the most honest treatise I’ve read on the subject. Contrary to conventional wisdom, Goins argues that passion is not enough. It is when our passion and interests intersect with others’ needs that we find our larger purpose and life work.

In The Art of Work, Jeff Goins writes about his own personal journey as well as others’. He shows through one story after another how finding work that matters is a lifelong journey that involves learning from others, building bridges, and making pivots when necessary

It doesn’t matter what stage of life you’re currently in, this book will provide many insights into your own life journey, affirming your past and giving direction for the future.

Keeping in step with the Spirit not with others' opinions

In Step with the Spirit, Not Others’ Opinions

“If we live by the Spirit, let us also keep in step with the Spirit. Let us not become conceited, provoking one another, envying one another.”

Galatians 5:25-26 CSB

Lately, I’ve been thinking about how we make decisions. How I make decisions. I’m dismayed to realize how often I hesitate to do or not do something because I’m afraid of what someone else might think. I’ve also noticed I’m not alone in this. Despite our rather independent-minded culture, our choices are largely influenced by others’ opinions. Sometimes it’s not even what we know to be others’ opinions, but what we assume they are.

Full surrender to Jesus

What Full Surrender to Jesus Looks Like

Over mountain, or plain, or sea.
I’ll say what You want me to say, dear Lord.
I’ll be what You want me to be.

Corrie ten Boom and Pamela Rosewell Moore

It’s been years since I’ve heard this song. But for the last number of days, I’ve been humming it over and over again. I’ve also been reading about Corrie ten Boom and Pamela Rosewell Moore, Corrie’s companion and caretaker during the last decade of her life. The lives of both these women, fully surrendered to Jesus and anything He called them to do, reminded me of this song. It inspires me to continue to surrender myself and my life to Jesus, no matter what He asks of me.

how to have a balanced life and healthy relationships

The Key to a Balanced Life and Healthy Relationships

A mentor once introduced me to a simple diagram which has brought me much clarity in living a more balanced life and having healthier relationships. It helps us know when to say “yes” and when to say “no.” Most importantly, it puts God in His rightful place, resulting in freedom to live a fulfilling and purposeful life.

Gods involvement in the details of our lives to fulfill the dreams He gives us

God’s Loving Involvement in the Details of Our Lives

This morning I received an email alert from Amazon about a new book being released by a certain author. As I sat looking at that email, the Holy Spirit took me down memory lane, reminding me how He works so amazingly and intricately in our lives to bring about relationships and events we could never have planned ourselves.
